The story of the tortoise and hare has just been re-written - now it’s called the Ferrari and the photographer.
And why? Well, last Friday, just two days before the Melbourne Formula 1 Grand Prix, Kine Graffiti’s photographers managed to outrun a couple of fabulous Ferraris in a spirited sprint down Swanston Street. Not that the Ferraris were actually sprinting - that was us and a darting contingent of press photographers and news crews ducking and weaving around them, popping shots of the two superstars of Ferrari Formula 1, Kimi Raikkonen and Phillipe Massa.
The oh so fast sports cars and their famous passenges were, in fact, travelling at a snails pace, surrounded by a crush of supporters lining the route of this Ferrari / Shell V Power pre-race publicity parade. Culminating in a meet and greet outside the Westin Hotel, the fans had a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with their idols. Then, a quick press conference and straight off to the Albert Park track for practice and testing their searingly quick red machines.
